At Intelligent Office, we are proud to highlight two remarkable veterans: Steve Atwell and Matt Whitaker, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. Their dedication to our country and the valuable lessons they’ve brought into their civilian lives are powerful examples of our veterans’ strength and spirit.
Steve Atwell: A Legacy of Service and Sacrifice
Steve Atwell served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, traveling across the U.S. and Europe to train for potential conflicts. His inspiration came from his father, who served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, and the patriotic values ingrained in his family. Steve and his brothers contributed over 50 years of military service, embracing loyalty, dedication, and sacrifice.
Steve’s military service left a profound impact on his life and shaped his personal values and professional success. Serving his country gave him a deep appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy, reminding him that “freedom isn’t free” and comes with great sacrifice. This lesson in responsibility and dedication carried over into his career. As a licensed insurance agent for 38 years and the owner of Montgomery Premier for the past 19 years, Steve applies the self-discipline and mission-focused mindset he learned in the Marine Corps. His agency, which provides property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial clients, thrives on integrity, leadership, and accountability—values deeply rooted in his military experience.
Matt Whitaker: Leadership at Sea
Matt Whitaker began his Navy career on a Navy ROTC scholarship that allowed him to attend the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, he became a Gunnery Officer on the USS Comte de Grasse. He was responsible for a division of crew members, gunnery systems, and nuclear weapons security. His experiences, including traveling the globe, taught him invaluable leadership and teamwork skills that shaped his future.
For Matt, the skills and experiences gained in the Navy have had a lasting impact on his professional life. Today, he owns an Intelligent Office location and works as a Merger and Acquisition Advisor, where his military background continues to give him an edge. The veteran community is strong, and Matt finds that when working with clients who are also veterans, there’s an immediate bond and mutual respect. His ability to connect with Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) gives him a unique advantage in the Federal Contracting space, where he often collaborates with fellow veterans.
As we honor Steve, Matt, and veterans nationwide, we invite you to celebrate their invaluable contributions. This Veterans Month, Intelligent Office is a Free Day Office for all Veterans. Visit Intelligent Office to learn more!
